Curatorial E (Archaeologist)
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Curatorial E (SO Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract of 3 - 6 months, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £17.94 per/hr
· Location – DfC, HED - Heritage Advice and Regulation
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
Responsibilities will include:
· Review and comment on archaeological programme of works and liaise with relevant colleagues in Planning team.
· Make informed decisions on licence applications before submitting to Curatorial D for approval.
· Undertake site inspections to ensure licence conditions are being fulfilled and report on same. This will require liaising with staff across Branches.
· Review and classify archaeological reports and make constructive comments where necessary.
· Review and update Excavation database and spreadsheet as required.
· Assist the curatorial staff in providing cover in other geographical areas as directed by the Curatorial D.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· Honours degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology and a minimum of two year’s field experience, which can be a composite over the last five years.
· A full driving licence and access to a form of transport is required to fulfil the duties of the post.
Desired Experience/Qualifications
· Additional years field experience to include senior field positions – site director/senior site supervisor. Experience of directing archaeological excavations and compiling archaeological excavation reports classified as Final by HED.
Relevant or Equivalent Qualifications
