Role Profile
We have an exciting opportunity in the International Energy Research Team within the Research, Innovation, and Electricity Department.
The Research, Innovation, and Electricity Department includes teams specialising in National Research, Innovation, Offshore Energy, Electricity and Wind, and International Energy Research coordination. The Department is made up of experts in engineering, science, and similar fields, as well as professional research specialists. They focus on finding solutions to decarbonise Ireland’s energy system. The Department provides evidence for energy policy decisions, supports energy research priorities, helps develop the energy market, and informs the public about sustainable energy.
This role will report to the International Energy Research Programme Manager.
Essential Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:
- A degree (a minimum of NFQ Level 7) in Business, Social Sciences, Public Administration or Science.
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience, preferably working in the area of research administration/management.
- Knowledge and/or experience of the energy sector.
- Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
- Excellent team-player that produces quality work in a timely manner.
- Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team and managing projects involving a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to represent in a public forum.
Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of the national and international energy research sectors and how these influence policy and project development.
- Experience analysing and synthesising technical information and communicating learnings to internal and external audiences.
- Experience facilitating and delivering information sharing, capacity building or knowledge transfer events and/or workshops.
- An understanding of public sector administration.
