Laboratory Technician (Rotational shift) - Almac Pharma Services
CPL have partnered with ALMAC Group to recruit for a Laboratory Technician to join their team on a temporary, on-going contract.
· Pay Rate - £13.72 plus 16.7% shift allowance for Early shift and Evening shift.
· Location – ALMAC Global Headquarters, Craigavon
· Benefits – 34 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday
· Shift 1 - 0600 - 1400 (Early shift)
· Shift 2 - 0900 - 1700 (Day shift)
· Shift 3 - 1400 - 2200 (Evening shift)
OVERALL ROLE OBJECTIVE:
The Laboratory Technician will be responsible for performing a range of tasks according to Standard Operating Procedures and ALCOA+ principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate, Complete, Consistent, Enduring & Available).
These tasks will include housekeeping, calibration & maintenance of laboratory equipment, monitoring & maintaining consumables/chemicals/reagent stock levels and supporting operational requirements.
JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
The post holder will:
1. Maintain a high level of housekeeping: routine cleaning of laboratory areas, including laboratory waste management.
2. Manage calibration & maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. pH meters, analytical balances).
3. Monitor & maintain the stock levels of laboratory consumables/chemicals/reagents. Receipt goods and/or services.
4. Support operational requirements:
• Conduct physical tests (e.g. appearance, tablet hardness, tablet friability)
• Perform inspection of incoming packaging components
• Perform finished goods inspections
• Perform material sampling of raw materials (including Purified Water), packaging materials, britestock, intermediates and drug products
• Perform visual assessment, swab & microbiological sampling of cleaned production equipment
• Manage the storage and archival of lab datapacks and documentation
5. Perform other tasks deemed appropriate by the Lab Coordinator, Technical Leader or Team
Leader.
This role may require coverage beyond normal working hours on a regular basis and shift work. It is a condition of your employment that you are able to fulfil this requirement of the role.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT
GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Previous Work Experience
Proven ability to adopt a methodical approach, managing multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy in all work carried out
Proven ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
Willing to learn and apply new skills
Excellent attention to detail
Practical problem-solving skills
