Laboratory Technician
Permanent Role – Cavan, commutable from Louth and Meath.
CPL Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician
to join this highly successful SME based in Cavan. Start your career in industry in this interested industrial role, level 5 in laboratory studies required as a minimum. This is a great opportunity for someone with a positive approach and work ethic start out in industry.
Overall, you will contribute to overall quality of product on site.
You will be responsible for testing raw materials, in-process and manufactured products in accordance with defined procedures and take appropriate actions to control non-conforming material / product.
You will work to identify opportunities for the elimination of waste, increased efficiencies and improvement of quality of the products.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine QC testing of the finished products according to the existing laboratory procedures.
- Reporting of all QC results in a timely fashion to the HSQE Manager.
- Maintain an inventory of all batches tested in accordance with ISO 9001.
- Participate in setting up new incoming raw materials control system and implementation of same once it is set up.
- Assisting R&D department in modification of existing products, sourcing of new raw materials, and the development of new products.
- Assist in maintaining and tracking chemical data sheets, safety data sheets, certs of analysis of all incoming laboratory raw materials.
- Keep laboratory and laboratory equipment clean and tidy.
- Must follow all relevant Health & Safety regulations.
- Undertake in-house and external training where required by the company.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience in QC and/or materials testing would be preferable.
- Level 5 in laboratory studies as a minimum.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 & other certification systems would be of benefit.
- Good knowledge required of basic Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.)

- Be a self-starter who shows initiative.
You must have the right to work in Ireland for this role, visa support is not available on this occasion.
A car would be beneficial to travel to the site.
