Our client is a global semiconductor leader that bridges the physical and digital worlds to enable breakthroughs at the Intelligent Edge. They combines analog, digital, and software technologies into solutions that help drive advancements in digitized factories, mobility, and digital healthcare, combat climate change, and reliably connect humans and the world. They are a world leader in the area of high-speed mixed-signal signal processing circuits. The Advanced Data-converter Platforms Group (ADG) team has an opening for a product applications engineer. This group develops narrow/wideband/ultra-wideband TRx /ADC/DAC products for aerospace, defense, instrumentation and communication applications.
This position will require applicants to be equally comfortable in a lab setting as they are with talking to boards of directors. Handling the leading edge in Software Defined Radio applications means dealing both with the technicalities of experimental use cases, as well as pushing the boundaries of how modern customers find their technical support.
Responsibilities
- Primary technical support to customers to solve implementation issues relating to the use of TRx / ADC / DAC. Support customers by phone, email, on-line forums and on-site visits to present information, answer questions, and debug customer issues.
- Integrate and troubleshoot software and hardware on evaluation boards.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to engage with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements.
- Define and implement eval board architecture and testing and release plans
- Write documentation that describes silicon functionality, firmware, and software operation to customers. Train field applications engineers on incoming products and its functionalities.
Key Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in high speed data converters and radio signal chain.
- Experience with RF and mixed-signal systems design and debug.
- Strong fundamentals in data converters, mixed signal, and processor-based systems. Knowledge in RF, PLL and filters domains is a plus.
- Familiarity with the role of key RF design specifications (such as IIP3, Noise Figure, etc.) is preferred.
- Familiarity with bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators and spectrum analyzer.
- Some programming experience in C, Python and some knowledge of data structures and software abstraction concepts such as an application programming interface (API).
- Programming and troubleshooting experience in embedded C and knowledge of software abstraction concepts such as an application programming interface (API) is required.
- Familiarity with DSP theory and algorithms (i.e. FFT, Filtering, sample rate conversion, equalizer, fractional resampling, source and channel codec, NCO, DDC, QEC etc.) is preferred. Knowledge about DPD and FPGA is a plus.
- Ability to interact effectively with customers and other teams.
- Team player, fluent in English with excellent oral and written communication skills.
