Senior Occupational Therapist – Acute Hospital, South Dublin, Ireland
Cpl Healthcare in partnership with Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) are currently recruiting for a Senior Occupational Therapist for a role working with as part of the Complex Case Management (Discharge Facilitation) service.
As a Senior Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for the delivery of Occupational Therapy services across the discharge planning and patient flow team. The Senior OT will work in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate and expedite patient discharges from the hospital and interim care beds. The Senior OT will be the link person between community and hospital care and work closely with the Senior OTs in Acute services to facilitate equipment provision and home visits for inpatients.

TUH is one of Ireland’s largest acute teaching hospitals with 450 beds .The Hospital has 450 adult beds and is one of the two main academic teaching hospitals of Trinity College Dublin
The Hospital is a provider of local, regional and national specialties. It is also a national urology centre, the second largest provider of dialysis services in the country, a regional orthopaedic trauma centre and a designated trauma unit.

Candidates interested in the role must have:
- A recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist and professional registration in your country of practice
- Eligible to apply for recognition and registration as an Occupational Therapist with CORU (www.coru.ie), the Health & Social Care Professionals regulatory authority in Ireland
- At least 3 years full time (or equivalent) post qualification clinical experience in an acute hospital and/or community care setting
- Experience assessing for and providing adaptive and enabling equipment to facilitate discharge from hospital.
- Experience of planning complex discharges including home and access visits
- Experience working with patients requiring specialist seating/wheelchairs.
- Experience in supervision and clinical training of junior staff
- Police clearance from any country lived or worked in for 6 months or more
- Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Flexibility in work practice
- Excellent verbal and written English
