Senior Speech and Language Therapist required for a locum opportunity in Cork city mental health services.
The Senior Speech & Language Therapist will work as part of an exciting opportunity, the “Giving Voice Project” is part of a pilot project pioneering a SLT service in adult mental health in Cork.
This position will offer opportunities for research, audit, CPD, specialist training, evidence-based practice, service development and coaching others.
The Speech and Language therapist will help adult residents to communicate their ideas, choices, wishes and preferences, to be more independent, to engage in holistic treatment planning and to participate in activities that they enjoy.
The SLT will work as part of a MDT (including Psychiatry, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Art Therapy, Dietetics, Pharmacy and others). The SLT will work collaboratively with staff to deliver a client-centred service
The vacancy is a relief contract to cover a redeployment of indefinite duration.
Interested candidates should have:
•A recognised SLT qualification with CORU registration and have 3 years post-qualification experience
•3 years post-qualification experience
•Dysphagia qualification/competencies
•Experience in delivering staff training
•Experience of working in residential care or with adults
•An interest in mental health
