Store Manager
Our client, a leading employer in the region and emporium for Irish designed products and crafts are seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager for their craft and gift store in west County Clare.
The purpose of the role is to provide and deliver budgeted sales, team leadership, direction and coaching on all aspects of customers service, store operations enabling the team to achieve its KPI’s and the overall departments performance goals.
The Role:
Reporting to the Retail Operations Manager, the Store Manager will be to ensure that the west Clare store meets its overall budgeted sales targets through excellence in customer service, maximising repeat business, up-selling, link and cross-selling.
In addition, the Store Manager will ensure that all guidelines, processes, procedures to ensure that the right stock is in the right place at the right time to meet customer needs, by working closely with the buyers to ensure enough volume of stock is available to meet demand.
Key Responsibilities to include:
· Monitor and deliver the annual sales performance budget, with the associated KPI’S; (sales, margin, conversion, stock loss, ATV, IPT, Mystery Shop)
· Identify areas of opportunity for sales with new brands / suppliers or general offerings that the customer may be looking for
· Ensuring pricing is clearly visible on the shop floor to allow ease of shopping for customers who are limited on time
· Oversee the day to day running of the store, including delegation of duties to the teams, and managing expectations of the different areas
· Building a team who are customer oriented and skillful in selling and product knowledge
· Being aware of local competitors and market trends and use this analysis for monitoring own store performance identifying areas for future growth
· Maintaining store appearance and merchandising standards, as per guidelines
· Working closely with Retail Operation Manager in Marketing, Tourism and buying teams to maximize sales performance of different product lines
· Network with local and county chambers and the Centre Management team to drive awareness to the retail sites. Build strong relationships with various Centre Manager, Tour Operator and facilities
· Liaising with Buying, Marketing, Warehouse, IT, HR, and Finance on initiatives to improve store performance
· Fully supporting marketing in the implementation of local marketing initiatives.
· Driving sales using product knowledge, selling techniques, and ensuring team are offering baskets to customers
· Own the store P&L – highlighting strengths and possible exposures and understanding these
· Implement cash handling, risk management and safety standards in relation to cash management, monitoring their effectiveness and compliance with company standards on cash management.
Skills & Experience that we need:
· Experience operating in a fast-paced retail business environment which is team based and focuses on achieving optimum sales and margin performance
· Experience driving and showcasing products through optimizing product visual merchandising, standards and guidelines is a priority
· The ability to work efficiently in a constantly changing retail environment, demonstrating a willingness to learn, to try out new and unique ideas and apply them positive results
· The ability to coach others to guide them to achieve their potential
· The ability to build effective teams of people working together to meet the changing needs of customers
· Experience in driving sales using product knowledge, and selling techniques.

The post will be operational on seven days a week basis according to business requirements. Hours of operation vary seasonally and is based fully onsite in west County Clare.
