A global leader in medical device manufacturing head quartered in the US is looking for a Supply Chain Coordinator to join their Irish team based on site in Longford. This is an exciting time to join company who have just completed building a new clean room facility and are in the process of building an Innovation Centre which will be their new European HQ, proving their dedication to continued growth within the industry.
Job Summary
Under limited supervision with alternating periods of relative autonomy and general review, obtains competitive quotes, negotiates prices, and recommends vendor selection, purchases goods and services, and maintains supply of stock items to meet our requisition needs. Oversees plant needs to include maintenance and related operations.
Knowledge | Experience | Skills
• Degree in business or related field preferred.
• Computerised purchasing experience preferred.
• Experience in purchasing and/or inventory preferred.
• Ability to be self-motivated and work independently.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Problem solving and organizational skills.
• Strong working knowledge and experience with Maximo and purchasing procedures preferred.
• Excellent communication skills
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Responsible for adherence to Purchasing policies and procedures.
• Executes buying strategies as defined by Supply Chain Manager.
• Evaluate vendor reliability and follows up on any problems regarding the use of purchased items.
• Purchase materials in line with inventory targets.
• Track the status of orders communicating and expediting as needed.
• Maintain the accuracy of the master data related to their products.
• Internal communication with different departments
• Assist in resolving issues regarding damaged/inferior products, returns, invoice discrepancies, etc.
• Identify savings opportunities and secure the best pricing options.
• Maintain strong communication with suppliers; resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Work with Management requestors within the plant on any urgent/expedited situations. Quote parts as needed for projects within the plant and enter into the database as needed.
• Proactively mitigate any potential problems in the supply of materials.
• Working within the management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned orders and report any back ordered or missing products.
• Assisting the Supply Chain Manager with maintaining inventory levels and materials on a regular basis
• Effectively communicating with the management team to ensure all orders are accurate.
• In charge of Freight shipments where required
• manage and implement cycle counting.
• Manage and negotiate all non-stocked purchases
• Maintain a database of approved suppliers.
• Determine and track Purchasing KPI’s
