About the Role
As a Junior/mid level DevOps Engineer in one Irelads leading banks within the Commercial Lending Transformation Programme department, you will help support and improve DevOps processes within nCino / Salesforce environments.
This role provides an opportunity to work with automation and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD) in a transformative banking environment. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers and developers, contributing to the efficient setup, deployment, and management of systems that support the bank’s commercial lending objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Salesforce DevOps Support: Assist in setting up, automating, and optimizing DevOps processes within Salesforce, aiming to streamline development and operational efficiency.
- Version Control: Help manage code repositories, using Git in tools like Bitbucket (or equivalent), while learning best practices for branching, merging, and versioning workflows.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Support the configuration and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, using Jenkins (or similar tools), to automate deployments and testing.
- Code Quality & Best Practices: Work with team members to ensure that code meets quality and security standards and follows Salesforce best practices.
- Environment Management: Assist in setting up and maintaining Salesforce environments, including sandbox management and moving configurations between environments.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with developers, administrators, and business teams to ensure efficient development, testing, and release cycles.
- Incident Resolution: Learn to troubleshoot and address deployment or environment issues as they arise.
· Automation Tools: Use Salesforce DevOps tools like VS Code, AutoRABIT, or similar to support automation in deployments and release management.
Key Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: Previous internship or 6+ months of experience in DevOps or system administration, preferably with exposure to Salesforce (or other enterprise platforms).
- Technical Skills:
o Salesforce Development Basics: Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms, with a basic understanding of development lifecycle processes.
o Version Control: Experience with Git-based version control systems (e.g., Bitbucket or GitHub) for entry-level code management.
o CI/CD Exposure: Some experience with CI/CD concepts; familiarity with Jenkins (or equivalent) is a plus.
o Salesforce Tools: Basic exposure to tools like VS Code and an interest in learning other DevOps tools (e.g., AutoRABIT, Flosum, or Copado).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to learn and apply troubleshooting techniques and to work methodically through issues.
- Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate technical findings and collaborate effectively with team members.
· Interest in Financial Services: Eagerness to learn about the commercial lending sector and the role of DevOps in banking.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of Salesforce DX, managed packages, or banking/financial services platforms like nCino (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with additional Salesforce DevOps tools such as Copado or Flosum.
· Previous experience in banking, financial services, or enterprise CRM systems.
