For our client, which is an integrated healthcare, pharmaceutical and retail leader serving millions of customers and patients every day, with a 170-year heritage of caring for communities, we are currently seeking an experienced DevOps Lead.
In this position, the DevOps Lead is responsible for providing a fully automated build/test/deploy system used to manage software development. You will be part of a team of engineers and coordinate the DevOps team to assess and prioritize the organization and tooling needs for all aspects of our development lifecycle.

What will you be responsible for?
- providing a fully automated build, test and deployment system used to manage software development,
- leading a team of engineers and coordinating the activities of the DevOps team to assess and prioritise the organisation and tooling needs for all aspects of our development cycle,
- supporting the DevOps Manager in defining and executing the DevOps Roadmap within the Engineering Playbook.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- providing design documentation and troubleshooting,
- coordinating the DevOps team to implement, develop, and maintain continuous integration, testing, and deployment processes,
- contributing to the definition and execution of a strategic DevOps plan approved by engineering leadership,
- working with the architecture team to ensure proper non-functional scope (e.g., obsolescence),
- working with team members to improve engineering tools, company systems and procedures, and data security,
- application development and deployment processes to be executed to the best of their ability, and ensuring proper quality control,
- operating with an “automation first” mindset by working closely with the architecture, development, and QE teams,
- providing leadership and oversight for deployment and implementation planning, systems integration, ongoing data validation processes, quality assurance, delivery, operations, and technical sustainability,
- maintaining and monitoring DevOps dashboards,
- ensuring that system and application configuration management is consistent across the environment, at all stages of the SDLC,
- close collaboration with the Agile Delivery Engineer, Agile Delivery Manager and Lead Product Architect.
What is important in terms of education and experience?
- a degree in project and programme management or a qualification in IT or solid work experience in IT and programme management,
- good knowledge of the software development life cycle, lean agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and IT roles,
- Technical skills and knowledge of Azure/AWS cloud computing, Docker/Kubernetes, Python, Jenkins, CI/CD, DevOps best practices, JIRA/ Confluence,
- 5 years progressively responsible experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical and healthcare organisation or business domain,
- Agile mindset: User Stories, Continuous Integration, Continuous, Testing (Test Automation), Pairing, Agile Games.
