The Role
The EHS Engineer/Specialist will work closely with the Safety Manager, and other technical managers/engineers to drive improvements in existing EHS management systems, including compliance for the Cork site under the COMAH and Seveso regulations as well as providing technical expertise as required.
The EHS Engineer/Specialist is responsible for carrying out activities and programmes to ensure compliance with the site’s ISO 4500:1 management including local and Corporate EHS management programmes.
The EHS Engineer/Specialist will lead/interact with regulatory bodies on regulatory compliance programmes and future change requirements as required.
The EHS Engineer/ Specialist will measure, monitor, and evaluate site Health and Safety performance, according to established programs and drive continuous improvement.
Who You Are
Essential: Degree and/or a recognized Degree/Diploma in H&S or suitable engineering/science discipline.
Desirable: Experience in chemical management systems including Air Quality management programs and/or ergonomic industry design principles (machinery/equipment etc).
Experience in Life Science manufacturing or similar Seveso/COMAH industry setting.
Involvement in major infrastructural projects from contractor management - compliant operation.
Strong experience in regulatory interactions on regulatory licensing applications and liaisons.
Demonstrated project management, program management and multi-tasking ability in large industry.
Specialist in H&S legislation and best practice in large scale industry.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7 years’ experience in an EHS position.
Thorough understanding of relevant H&S guidance, directives, and processes in regulated industry.
Ability to motivate and influence others to achieve regulatory objectives; willingness to take ownership of issues and win buy-in of others.
