Our client the Land Development Agency (LDA) is a commercial, semi-State body that seeks to maximise the supply of affordable homes on public and other land in a financially sustainable manner, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent board of directors and is funded with €5 billion of equity capital committed by the Government. It is also permitted to borrow up to €1.25bn
The LDA has commenced construction on a number of projects on State land and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 17,000 homes. It also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under the Government’s Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
The Role:
You will join the Strategic Planning Team working with a range of development professionals across the Agency on a wide variety of projects with a focus on mapping, data analysis and supporting the progression of Register of Relevant Public Lands.
The role will involve liaising with other internal and external stakeholders in delivering geospatial applications, products and services; collating and managing data; and extending the use of GIS and supporting evidence based decision making.
Working collaboratively with key data partners, including other state bodies and agencies, government departments and local authorities.
The integration of mapping components into existing reporting and web applications.
Cartography and map representation, charts and data for presentations for various teams across the agency.
Testing, debugging and performance tuning of GIS applications and accounts.
Documentation writing and procedure development for GIS projects.
Person Specifications/Experience:
- At least two years of GIS Development experience.
- A 3rd level qualification or equivalent in a relevant degree in GIS, geography, geomatics, geosurveying, planning or similar which included a significant element of GIS;
- Evident experience with the ESRI Desktop suite and a high level of IT literacy.
- A good understanding of the LDA’s GIS technology platform including ArcGIS for Server, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS/Pro at current revision levels.
- A team player with a strong track record of relationship building.
- Demonstrable drive and track record of getting things done.
- Knowledge and experience of relational database products and their application to GIS solutions.
- Knowledge and experience of ESRI Datastores.
