Mapping & Charting Officer
CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for Mapping & Charting Officer’s (E01 Grade) to join their team on a temporary contract, with possibility of extension.
· Pay Rate - £15.97 per/hr
· Location – DoF, LPS Ordnance Survey Product Management
· Benefits – 37 days holiday per annum
· Hours – 37 hours per week
The Product Management GI Specialist will support the development and maintenance of spatial data and non-spatial data and provide mapping and analytical services while promoting and supporting the use of OSNI mapping products.
Responsibilities will include:
· Manage team emails and calls.
· Manage product suite and product supply.
· Attend meetings regarding product suite and collate customer feedback.
· Capture, collate, process, visualise and occasionally interrogate spatial data, especially in response to customer queries and for routine QA.
· Analyse and present data using GIS software.
· Provide technical support with regards product suite and its use in GIS.
· Integrate spatial and non-spatial datasets through various methods including database and spreadsheet manipulation.
Essential Experience/Qualifications
· Problem Solving and people skills – responding to formal emails, active customer engagement and a keenness to find alternative solutions.
· GIS skills – experience/ability to competently use ARC, MapInfo or CAD software to load, manipulate, analyse and display spatial data.
· Microsoft skills – File/Windows Explorer, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum.
· Ability to conduct basic research on request.
Desired Experience/ Qualifications
· Experience/ability to competently use database and spreadsheets to manipulate/ analyse spatial and non-spatial datasets.
· Experience applying cartographic skills to visualise digital spatial data.
· Comfortable giving short presentations as required.
· Basic Minute Taking skills.
